Ruben Torres Sr. (Pops, Mr. T.) – 79 – passed away on Monday, September 8th, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas. Served in the United States Air Force, retired from The City of El Paso as Traffic Engineer Supervisor. In 1993 was inducted into The El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame. Survived by Beloved wife of 57 years, Yolanda J. Torres; children, Ruben Jr. (Lupe), Danny Sr. (Pat), Donna (Troy), Michael (Crystal); 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. brother Joel Towers, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death; mother Raquel G., father Flavio, brother Flavio. Visitation will be Sunday, September 14th from 5pm to 9pm, Rosary service at 6pm at Del Angel/Martin Funeral Home. Mass at Blessed Sacrament, 9025 Diana Drive, Monday, September 15th at 11:45am followed by burial at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Pallbearers: (Grandsons) Ruben III, Danny Jr., Mark Anthony, Matthew Paul, Steven Daniel, and Luis Armando.
