Serafina "Nina" Delgado

Serafina “Nina” Delgado passed away February 20, 2011 at the age of 79. Nina was born February 21, 1931 in Anthony, NM to Elena and Pedro Jacques. One of eleven children, Nina, in the mid sixties entered into the work force to support her children working at the Jefferson High School Cafeteria while going to night school to attain her GED Diploma and proudly achieving her goal to become a teacher’s aide at Hawkins Elementary School where she worked until she retired in the late 80’s. She preceded in death by her parents and her 5 brothers. She is survived by her sons Lonny M. Delgado, Nick Delgado (Lupe), Ronny S. Delgado, and Alfred Jacques Jr., her brother Manuel Jacques, her sisters Josefina Amador, Anita Padilla, Lupe Chacon, and Lela Villalobos. At the time of her passing she also had 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Nina Delgado will be Tuesday, February 22, at 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Martin Funeral Central, 3839 Montana Ave. with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, February 23 at 9 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 519 S. Latta St, Interment will follow at Chamberino Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lonny M. Delgado, Nick Delgado, Ronny S. Delgado, Alfred Jacques Jr., Michael Delgado, Derek Delgado, and Honorary Pallbearers, Manuel Jacques and John DelgadoArrangements under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central, El Paso, TX.
