

William passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at age of 87. He served in the United States Navy. William was active in sports umpiring Little League baseball teams, playing in the Downtown Optimist and Independent Softball Leagues. He participated and excelled in swimming and high diving competition. After his retirement from the Purchasing Department for the City of El Paso his enjoyable past time was bartending at his son's business Big Al's Wings and Suds. He also loved to dance and listen to good music. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Chief of Police William A. Mitchell and wife Delia, parents Carlos F. Figueroa and Delia Burroughs, brother, Carlos McCombs, and granddaughter Erica Isernia. He is survived by wife Ruth; children, Alex and Laura; granddaughter Janessa; great granddaughter, Alejandra; numerous nieces and nephews. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous friends. Visitation will be Friday, January 2, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Martin Central. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 9 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 1415 Dakota St. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
