Wayman Edward Wisner

April 12, 1946 to October 10, 2018

Dr. Wayman Edward Wisner passed away peacefully on October 10, 2018.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Gergen-Wisner of Estes Park, CO., son, Jonathan (Barbara) Wisner of Milliken, CO., sister Angela (Bruce) Vernon of Chattanooga, TN, and first wife, Marjorie Wisner from Tunnel Hill, GA. He also leaves behind five beautiful nieces, 2 great-nieces, 1 great-nephew, cousins, treasured friends, and Gus the wonder dog.

Dr. Wisner was born to William & Olene Wisner in Nashville, Tennessee and then moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee where he lived until joining the Navy and serving in Vietnam. Upon returning home, he continued his education, achieving his PhD in Psychology. Dr. Wisner worked as a psychologist for the State of Colorado and other institutions until retiring in 2012.

Wayman (Ed) was an avid reader, birder, poet and enjoyed sketching the beauty he saw around him. He loved nothing more than walking his dogs or hiking through his beloved Rockies with his wife, rafting trips with good friends, and spending time with family, unless it was a good book and nap on a rainy/snowy afternoon.

Ed was a long-time member of St. Francis of Assisi Anglican Church in Estes Park.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend and he will be missed by many.

Service will be held on Tuesday, October 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Anglican Church (3480 St. Francis Way, Estes Park)
