Kirby Lee Jones, 77, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on February 20, 2026, after a long battle with stubbornness. Born March 19, 1948, in Muncie, Indiana, he was the son of the late Dallas and Helena Jones. A United States Air Force veteran and master machinery mechanic, Kirby later retired from the Lake County Property Appraiser’s Office. Known for his gentle nature, sharp wit, and devotion to family, he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elaine M. Jones; sons Michael Jones (Barbara), Jeffrey Jones, and daughter Stacey Arnold; sisters Beverly Guy, Nancy Jones, and Jacki Jones; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Terry Mills. A memorial service will be held at Harden & Pauli Funeral Home, 1617 Bay St, Eustis, FL, at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
