

Bobbie was an independent contractor and managed mail operations at Alcoa for 20 years. She was an avid seamstress, which lead to Bobbie's Fashion, the first black business in the Howell area in the '80's. She attended Dove Chapel Baptist Church for over 40 years and also attended House of Prayer Fellowship. She was a musician in both churches. Her life was the Ministry of Hospitality.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herschel L. Freels and second husband, Frederick L. Foster; daughter, Diane Freels and son, Daniel Freels.
Bobbie is survived by daughters, Thelma Bennington, Minister Debbie Freels-Wagner and Sirena Foster; sons, David Freels, Frederick Foster, Jr., and Stayce Foster; 15 grandkids; 19 great grandkids; and mother, Ida (Jones) Gray. Bobbie had a motherly relationship with her grandchildren; Michael Johnson, Crystal (Majors) Obey, Derrick Wagner, Niasia McDonald and Olivia Thomas. She had two cousins, Steven Tolliver and Kevin Carter who were like sons to her.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Dr. Anthony Brooks, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. The Wake will be held Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
