

Carrie was born in Rinard, Illinois on August 7, 1916 to the late Kenneth and Nellie Ruth (Whitson)
Campbell. Growing up, she helped her family farm. Carrie worked at Kresge in Indianapolis for 13
years. She was a member of Westwood General Baptist Church. Carrie was a wonderful cook,
known for her coconut cake and potato salad. She always had an immaculate house. Carrie
enjoyed traveling with her nephew, Charles, delivering motor homes. She also loved to go fishing
at Lake Malone and camping.
Carrie is survived by nephews, Richard Hall (Barbara), Charlie Hughes, Gary Campbell (Willa);
nephew-in-law, Gilbert Gresser; special great niece, Shannon Kelly (David); special great great
niece Noelle Hope Kelly; special great great nephew, Ethan Kelly; and special people, Nicholas and
Kaylynn.
Carrie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin W. Hughes; brothers, Kenneth Emory
Campbell, and Jack Farrel Campbell; and niece, Margaret Gresser.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Browning Funeral
Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Browning Funeral
