Dorothy M Boyd

Dorothy was born May 23, 1921 in Henderson, Kentucky the daughter of the late James and Sallie (Racener) Bunch. She was a long time member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church and also attended Airline Baptist Church in Henderson, KY. Dorothy retired in 1972 from Dr. Marshall’s office at Welborn Clinic where she worked as a registered nurse. She also volunteered her time at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Dorothy enjoyed watching UK Basketball and the Evansville Otters.

She is survived by stepdaughters, Elizabeth Tuning and Sarah Lee; nieces, Mary Lou Connolly and Patricia Mabry (Glenn); nephews, Oscar Bunch (Ruth), Jim Tom Hawkins (Yvonne), and David Craig (Brenda); grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband of 50 years, William Boyd; second husband, Raymond Hancock; 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm, Friday, July 28, 2017 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Reverend Dr. Larry Lewis and Reverend Nathan Whisnant officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may visit from 11 am until time of service at 3 pm, Friday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
