Eugene “Gene” W. Kuehn, 79, of Evansville, IN passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. He was born in Vanderburgh County- Armstrong Township on May 11, 1942 to the late Elmer and Nellie Kuehn. Eugene graduated from North Posey High School, the first graduating class. He was an Army Veteran. 1st Infantry Division, “Big Red 1”, Vietnam Veteran, lifetime member of VFW Post 1114. He was member of Washington Ave Church of Christ, past President of Vanderburgh County Farm Bureau Inc. and also former board member of Vanderburgh County 4-H Center. He spent his entire life as a farmer in the Armstrong Township area. He was the recipient of the Rural Urban Award. Eugene was preceded in death by his son, Andrew William Kuehn. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Charlotte Kuehn (Jones); grandsons, Kaleb and Keegan Kuehn, and also Grandpa Gene to Kenna and Chayton Brothers; sister, Shirley Schmidt (Jerry); 4 nieces and 2 nephews; great nieces and nephews, and 2 great great nephews; mother-in-law, Hilda Hendricks; sister-in-law; Melanie Osley brother-in-law, Joe Jones (Theresa); The Kuehn and Gray cousins. A sincere appreciation to Dr. Strickland, Dr. Ahmed and Dr. Kahn at the VA. Also Dr. Klink at Deaconess Gateway Urology and Dr. Taylor at Chancellor Oncology Center. A family funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Minister Alan Bush with live streaming at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA with burial to follow in St Paul’s – German Township Cemetery. Friends may visit 11:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Masks are encouraged. Memorial contributions may be made to Andrew W. Kuehn Memorial Scholarship Fund Vincennes University 1002 N. First St, Vincennes, IN 47591, Western Kentucky Youth Camp, or Armstrong Recreation Center.
