

Harvey was a Navy veteran, serving in the Pacific on the USS Sabine during WWII. At war's end he began to work with the US Corps of Engineers. He worked for the Corps for nearly 40 years as Chief Field Inspector on numerous locks and dams.
He was an avid crappie fisherman who loved spending his days on Barkley and Kentucky Lakes filling his box with the day's catch. When he was not fishing, he was tending his garden. He was also a devout Christian and long-time member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church.
Harvey is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
He is survived by Ruth (Gregory) Evans, his wife of 69 years; daughter, Sue (Evans) Asay (son-in-law, Don); son, Michael Evans (wife, Elizabeth); two grandsons, D.G. Asay (wife, Kelley) and Evan Asay (wife, Sarah); two granddaughters, Allison and Lauren Evans; and two great grandsons, Brodie and Chase Asay.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday November 10, 2015, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by friend, Paul Baumberger, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
