Henry was born in Evansville, Indiana, on January 2, 1921, to the late Henry E. and Ora S. (Bippus) Brockman. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister, both of whom died at birth. Henry graduated from Central High School in 1939 and attended Evansville College for two years. He was employed at Whirlpool Corporation in inventory control for 44 years. Henry served in the United States Army in World War II for three years, with 22 months in Iran, and 8 months in the ETO. He was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. John's United Church of Christ Downtown, and has been a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ since 1980, where he was a deacon, an elder, and had served as Financial Secretary of the Church Council, as well as being a member of the handbell choir. Henry enjoyed bowling and golfing, but his greatest fascination was all phases of railroading--modeling, photographing, riding, and just observing trains--from an early age.
Henry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jeannette B. (Peck) Brockman; two daughters, Susan E. Worthington (Steve), and Carol A. Brockman; two grandsons, John A. Worthington (Jaclyn) and David M. Worthington; and a great-granddaughter, Reagan Worthington.
