

He graduated from Boonville High School in 1947 and enlisted in the US Army. He worked for Bernardin's for over 37 ½ years and was a member of I.A.M. Union Local #2258. He attended the Washington Avenue Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Michael Persinger.
He enjoyed traveling all over the United States. He would take their 6 granddaughters on vacation with them. He would talk and tell stories about what the girls would do on their trips and how crazy it was with all women. He loved his great-great-grandchildren very much as well as enjoying holding the bundles of joy and playing in the back yard with string, balls or whatever he could find.
James is survived by daughters, Phyllis Hatfield, Marjorie Bruce (Frank); son Bill Persinger (Wendy); grandchildren, Chrissie, Lisa, Susie, Angie, Brent, Brandon, William, Penny, Margie, Frank; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Mickey, Shelby, Alex, Zac, Aubrie, Damien, Braylan, Kyle, Kelly, Elizabeth, Wesley, Jamie, Shania; great-great-grandchildren, Titus, Lida; many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:00AM Monday, September 16, 2013, at Alexander North Chapel officiated by Rev. Stephen Rogers with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit, Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 2:00PM until 6:00PM at the funeral home.
