

Joseph was born on November 28, 1961 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of Joyce Marilyn Coriell Shirley (and the late Eldon Bailey Shirley). Joseph is survived by his mother, brother, Curtis Edward Shirley (Aimee) of Indianapolis, one niece and three nephews, Noland Bailey Shirley, Olivia Ruth Shirley, Austin Jacob Coriell Shirley, and Jackson Chaille Shirley. Joseph is survived by two aunts, Alma Lucille Dyer of Nashville, Tennessee, and Janet Ruth Coriell of Columbus, Ohio; by one uncle, Joseph Samuel Shirley of Shepard, Texas, and 19 first cousins.
Joseph graduated from Vincennes University with an associate degree in architectural drafting, and for 25 years worked for QualEx Engineering as a Piping Department Group Leader, where he led and mentored other designers on various projects in the Petro Chemical field of industrial engineering. Joseph was an expert in all areas of carpentry and woodworking, and enjoyed playing golf and snow skiing with friends and family.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 pm, Saturday, July 18, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church, 609 SE Second Street, Evansville with Reverend Kevin Scott Fleming and Revered Mitch Stichler officiating with reception following. Private burial service and Internment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 pm until 7 pm, Friday, July 17, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue in Evansville, Indiana.
