

Linda was born on March 12, 1945 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Chester Earl and Mary Sherlie (Lester) Simpson.
Linda graduated from North High School in 1963. After graduating she married the love of her life, Carson Young in January of 1964. Linda and her husband co-owned Rem-Kay Business Equipment Company for 24 years. After selling the business in April of 1999, Linda worked part time in the retail and fashion field. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and traveling.
Linda was a charter member of North Park Baptist Church, a Kentucky Colonel and a Notary for 26 years. She was also a member of the American Business Women's Association, Charter Chapter for 21 years and had a perfect attendance of 20 years. She served as president from 1987 to 1988 and was Woman of the Year in 1988. Linda was a member of the Marinettes of the Shrine, served as president in 1997, and was Marinette of the year in 1998. Linda was also a member of the Isis Temple #44 Daughters of the Nile, the Dancers and Pageantry unit in the Nile and served as president of that unit. She faithfully attended St. Matthews United Church of Christ.
Linda is survived by her son, Scott Emerson Young (Melissa) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Adison Young, Nathan Young, and Justin Young all of Evansville, IN; a brother, Ronald (Sam) of Clearwater, FL; many nieces and nephews; and her companion, William "Bill" Hardy of Evansville, IN.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 48 and a half years, Carson Young in 2012; her son, Eliot Carson Young in 2012; brothers, Verlus in 2004 and Kenny in 2005; a sister, Shirley in 2007; and her parents, Earl and Sherlie in 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 16, 2016, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Rev. Art Christmas officiating. Burial will follow at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Browning Funeral Home.
