

Marjorie Lerneda Holmes, 88, of Ivins, UT, formerly of Evansville, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Season's Health and Rehabilitation in St. George, UT. She was born November 13, 1925, in Paducah, KY, to the late Elzia Timothy and Willie Agnes (Steele) Jarvis.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a part of their relief society. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, was an avid gardener and loved to read.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Willard Ray Holmes; brother, Larry Jarvis; sisters, Wanda Pierce, Maxine Myers and Janet Goebel; and her parents.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Towanda) Holmes of Sydney, OH, David (Sheri) Holmes of Lakewood Ranch, FL and Darrell Holmes of Evansville; daughter, Cynthia (Tab) Colette of Ivins, UT; grandchildren, Pamela, Jeffrey, Bryan (Melissa), Timothy, Cejae (Brandon), Kyndal, Shane, Shiloh, and Reese; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Coomes; brother, Timothy Jarvis; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:30 AM Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Bishop Danial Patrick, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 3:30 to 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
