Moses Bea Blazier, 95, of Evansville, IN passed away Nov. 15, 2020 from COVID-19. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Cuma (Lamont) Blazier.
Bea graduated from Carmi Township H.S. He was a member of Howell United Methodist Church since 1957, lifetime member of the V.F.W., past member of So. IN. Officials Assn., past President of Tri-State Umpire’s Assn., and a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Bea served in the Navy in the South Pacific in WWII where he participated in the invasions of Okinawa, Kwajlein, Eniwetok and Iwo Jima, and witnessed the flag raising there on Mt. Surbachi.
Bea worked for over 30 years at Bristol Meyers Squibb and retired in 1987.
He is survived by his daughter, Pat Wilson (Jack) and son, Stan Blazier (Kim); grandchildren , Sarah DeMare (Dan), Kyle Wilson, Troy Blazier (Turran) and Alex Blazier; six great-grandchildren; and Bea’s brother, Rev. Robert Blazier (Edith).
Bea’s cheerful demeanor and sweet spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family is holding a private burial service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
