She worked in retail sales and had been very involved in Mt. Pleasant Church of God, where she taught Sunday school.
Opail was preceded in death by her first husband, James Alva West; and her second husband, Tommy York.
She is survived by her son, James "Jay" (Ann) West; grandchildren, Greg West and Traci (Adam) Henney; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, Brooklyn, Paris and Maxwell.
Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 18, 2014, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Kennith McClain, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
