Polly Havilah (Evitts) Fischer, 84, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Heritage Center- Holiday Healthcare.

Polly was born in Central City, Kentucky on July 2, 1929 to the late Lucien Emitt and Fairy Luvada (Cobb) Evitts. She worked many places through the years. Her favorite job was working at GFI Pharmaceutical Research from 1987 to 1996. Polly loved to go to work every day and always had a good time. She was a lifetime member of the River Bend Association where she enjoyed visiting with friends. Polly was baptized and became a member of First Christian Church in 2009. She loved making new friends, Sunday School, and singing those familiar hymns.

Polly is survived by her daughters, Brenda Strieter (Erik), Linda Willett (Charlie), Kim Grimm (Tim); grandchildren, Stephanie Kolb (Kraig), Scott Strieter (Shannon), Matthew Willett (Ashley), Joshua Willett (Kim), Benjamin Grimm and Katherine Grimm; 10 great grandchildren; nieces, Retha McGuyer, Virginia Vincent, Trenda Due, Glenda Kay Boggess and Mary Lou Curry.

Polly is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Gerald John Fischer; her parents; sisters, Euphrates Dukes, Eva Mae Moore, Norma Lois Evitts and brothers, Harold Evitts and James Emitt Evitts.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday July 17, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Rev. Mitch Stichler officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday July 16, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home.
