Rita M. Johnson

Rita was born August 10, 1929 in Mishawaka, IN to the late Franz and Mabel (Irion) Stoeckinger. In 1954, Rita and her husband, Dr. H. Victor Johnson moved to the Westside to make their home. She had worked as a registered nurse and homemaker and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Surviving Rita are four children, Jane (Herb) Tuttle of Lawrence, KS, Robert (Claudia) Johnson of Indianapolis, IN, Richard (Gilda) Johnson of Kansas City, MO and Sharon (Tom) Ruder of Evansville; six grandsons, Victor and Peter Tuttle, Aaron Marshall, Andy Johnson, Bryan and Alex Ruder; two great granddaughters, Allison and Elizabeth Tuttle and a sister-in-law, Marthagene Johnson.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, H. Victor Johnson, MD in 2008; by a sister, Katherine Gladden; four brothers, Richard, Robert, John and Karl Stoeckinger.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rev. Anthony Govind officiating.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church.
