Roland Combs

Roland Combs, 85, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. He was born on Wednesday, November 28, 1934 in Hazard, Kentucky, to Lyndon and Blanche Combs. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and his graduate, in dentistry, from the University of Louisville. Roland served his internship at Philadelphia General Hospital. He owned his own practice, Roland Combs DDS, in Portland, Kentucky. Roland worked at Park Duvalle Community Health Center in Louisville, Kentucky, various other health care facilities, and eventually retired from Job Corps in Morganfield, Kentucky. Roland was a member of the American Dental Association. He was an avid horse racing fan, having previously owned his own race horse. Roland was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Amelia Ann (2018); and his nephew, Jimmy Combs. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Ann Elmore (Jeff); sons, James “Brad” Dillingham (Laurie) and Ronnie Combs (Annette); grandchildren, Michelle Elmore, Makayla Dillingham, Jackson Dillingham, Branson Combs, Brock Combs, and Brady Combs; brother, Roger Combs; and nephew, Lyndon Combs. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Alexander East Chapel with Chaplain Jerry Daniels officiating.
