Bill was a gunner in a B-25 while in the US Army in WW II. He was a Platoon Sgt. in Korea and a prisoner of war for 19 months and 13 days. Bill was awarded the Sliver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Bill owned his own furniture upholstery shop, specializing in antiques and diamond tufting. He was a life member of VFW Post 1114, American Legion #265 and the Bible Center Cathedral. He wrote books, “Where the Angels Tread”, “A Slice of Life” and many songs.
Bill was preceded in death by a son, Skip.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jaunice; sons, Gary and Terry; step children, David Baggett, Rita Lee, Norman, Chuck and Jim Baggett and sister, Pansy Coon , all of whom he loved very much.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 pm Sunday February 10, 2013 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Ave., Evansville, IN 47710.
