We said our final goodbyes to our Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma, Alice Feiker on April 17, 2026, as she went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ and her many loved ones that passed before her. She is where she’s wanted to be, we’re glad that she is at peace. She was a strong woman as she battled dementia for ten years.
Alice was the 6th of 8 children born to Lawrence and Mary Toenyan on March 25. 1939 in St. Rosa, MN. She grew up on a farm in Grey Eagle, MN & was especially close with her younger sister, Helen. She enjoyed playing with her siblings & cousins outside and at the lake. Alice graduated in 1957 from Blackduck High School where she met her future husband, John T. Feiker. John & Alice were married in Blackduck, MN in 1957. John entered the Airforce, and they had moved to St. Paul where Alice got a job at West Publishing where some of her siblings worked. John & Alice started their family with the birth of Sheila in 1959, Terry in 1960 & Michelle in 1962. Alice quit working when they moved to ‘the country,” in Mendota Heights where Todd & Craig were born in 1964 & 1965. We moved back to St. Paul & they managed two apartment buildings & raised five kids. Alice was a great mom who taught us how to cook, keep a neat house & how to be frugal. We all appreciated that. John became partially disabled in 1968. Alice started helping John with painting and wallpapering jobs, they had an excellent reputation for great work. We always had a good home cooked meal. Mom loved sweets & baking, we all loved her goodie trays at Christmas.
In 1972, they followed her two brothers & moved to Washington. First Edmonds, then Bothell where the girls graduated from CHS in Everett & got married. In 1981, they couldn’t resist moving back to MN, Puposky, with Todd & Craig. Alice missed her mom & sisters too much. They continued doing painting jobs while taking care of a big farmhouse, hayfield, & garden, canning food for the cold winters. Alice spent lots of time with her family. Both boys got married & had kids. Alice joined “Home Makers” and made lots of crafts, which she continued to do throughout her life, including scrapbooking, making several for family.
In 1989, Alice & John moved back to Everett Washington to a home on Grand Avenue. Alice was always a devout Catholic and joined Our Lady of Perpetual Help’s congregation. Alice also joined the Altar Society and St. Vincent de Paul’s Food Bank, donating many hours of volunteer time. We all looked forward to ‘Gramma’s Sausage Fest’ & carnival that O.L.PH. would host. Alice would work the rummage sale. Alice also volunteered with Religious Ed., kid’s schools, Camp Fire and kid’s art classes in the Everett school district. Alice enjoyed working with kids.
Mom has a basketful of heartfelt ‘Thank You’ cards from all her volunteering activities that she really enjoyed doing. She made many friends & enjoyed her time with them. Alice had a good sense of humor & people enjoyed her company & warm manner.
In 1990, they lost their son, Todd, & his wife Gina. John & Alice adopted their kids; Keyera-2 & Michael-1 and raised them through high school. They’re awesome kids. Alice provided access to lots of extra activities and lots of family get togethers with their cousins/other grandkids. Mom’s house was the hub for the family, especially for holidays. Family is Alice’s number one love, her Faith a very close second. Alice got to enjoy nine grandkids, fourteen great grandkids & her kids for many years, besides her two brother's families here. Alice enjoyed nearly yearly trips back to visit family in Minnesota. She adored all her grandkids & great grands!! Alice had so many friends who loved her too. Alice was a lucky lady & we were lucky to know her. She went on many adventures with John, her kids, grands, girl’s getaways & church retreats. Even to Washington D.C., as well as an Alaska cruise with a dear friend. She had a great life.
Alice lost five siblings & then in 2011, her husband, John. Alice really missed John. Alice needed to downsize from their home of 28 yrs, where they raised Michael & Keyera & welcomed all of us. In 2017 she moved to Broadway Plaza for 5 years. Alice was diagnosed with dementia and endured that cruel disease for ten years. Alice spent the last 3 ½ years at Heritage Court Memory Care in Everett where she was cared for with love & dignity. Our family would like to extend our deepest thanks to the caregivers & staff at Heritage Court Memory Care.
Alice is preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Gina Feiker, grandson, Bryan; son-in-law, Jody; and brothers Jeff, Larry, Don and Roger; and sister Dorothy.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Sheila Wall and Michelle (Ken) Morano; sons, Terry and Craig Feiker; her grandchildren, Crystal, Mitchell, Rebecca, Keyera, Hannah, Michael, Kevin and Briana; great-grandchildren, Jacobe, Ethan, Aiden, Alex, Hailey, Alex, Silas, Isabel, Elise, Ailish, Anara, Miles, Zoe, and Kaylani; sisters, Rita and Helen; and a large extended family.
