

Barbara, age 85 and a longtime resident of Everett, peacefully passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021.
Barb, as she was known by, was born to Frank and Mary Hartson on January 10, 1936 in Everett, Washington. She grew up in the Pinehurst area and attended the Everett Public School System.
Barb was a Boeing machinist for 35 years and retired in 1995.
She was married to James Jay and they raised their two children in Machias, Washington. They later moved to Everett where she resided ever since.
Barb truly enjoyed her family and friends. She was welcoming to all and if you visited, she would feed you and ask to play a game of Cribbage, or watch the Seahawks games.
Barbara is survived by her two sisters, Teresa Brearley of Bellingham, Maryanne Michaelson and her sister-in-law, Jeanette Hartson, both of Everett. Barb has five grandchildren, Heidi Jay, James Jay, Brandi Jay of Everett, Michael Jay of Marysville and Merrie (Jay) Young of Coulee City, as well as, her 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara is proceeded in death by her parents, her two brothers, Bill and Bob Hartson, her sister Betty Lou Hartson, her husband James Jay, her son Jimmy Jay, and daughter Rochelle “Shelly” (Jay) Larson.
She was loved by all and will be tremendously missed. At her request, there will be no funeral. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Evergreen Funeral Home from 4pm-8pm. Graveside services will be at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Everett Washington on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. A memorial celebration of life will occur Friday, September 17, 2021 at 2:30 PM, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203. Reception to follow. Please follow all Covid protocols.
