He was born to his parents, Tom and Kim Steinbaugh on Aug. 27, 1991, at a hospital in Arlington, joining his older sister, Chelsey in completing the family.
He attended Marysville schools and graduated from Marysville-Pilchuck
High School in 2010.
Brennen had a heart of gold and was a friend to all he met. He had a wicked sense of humor and would often leave his family members and friends in stitches with his jokes and pranks.
He was devoted to his nephews, Jake and Tristan Steinbaugh, (who adored him) and his dog, Bandit.
He enjoyed playing video games, camping, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and the Seahawks.
Brennen loved all sports and lettered in three: baseball, basketball and football during his high school career. He was named WESCO All Conference Defensive End in football for three consecutive years. He also played on an elite baseball team based in Kirkland. At age 15, his DOW Team (named for the League President, Commissioner, and beloved Coach), went to Orlando, FL and won the World Series.
A gifted athlete, he threw a 96mph fastball and was scouted by three Major League teams: the Astros,
the Padres and the Cubs.
He leaves his father, Tom (Cherie) Steinbaugh, step-sister, Hanna Novy, and step-brother, Bryce Novy, all of Arlington; his mother Kim Kluin Fogh (Mark), of Marysville and step-siblings Taylor, Colby and Noah Fogh, of Utah; sister Chelsey Steinbaugh (Matt St. Onge)and nephews Jake and Tristan, all of Marysville; grandparents Bill Steinbaugh, of Marysville and Del and Nancy Kluin, of Arlington; aunts Maria(Mark)Moritz of Naches, WA and Stacie (Jeff) Wallace, Arlington; uncles Jim (Laurie) Steinbaugh, Everett, Mike (Julie) Steinbaugh, Las Vegas, and Darrell (Lisa) Kluin, of Arlington. He also leaves behind many cousins and other extended family members, as well as many dear friends, especially Nick Searcy, who was the unofficially “adopted” son of Tom and Kim, and was like a brother to Brennen and Chelsey.
He was predeceased by his grandmother, Ramona Steinbaugh, great-grandparents, Grandpa and Grandma Kluin and Grandpa and Grandma Randall; his uncle, John Steinbaugh, aunt, Patricia Steinbaugh and his Great-Uncle Steve Randall.
A viewing for family members and close friends will take place on February 6 from 2-4PM at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203.
Due to COVID-19 no church service will be held. A “Celebration of Life” is planned for this summer.
