Carol Schwartz was born on November 26, 1940, in Everett, Washington to Vernon and Alice Atkinson. She passed away on April 28, 2025, in Arlington, Washington surrounded by family.
Carol graduated from Everett High School and lived most of her life in Everett before moving to a retirement community in Arlington. Before retiring she worked at the Everett Clinic, where she made many lifelong friends.
Carol enjoyed travel throughout her life. Trips with friends, family camping trips and cruises. After retirement she and husband Jim spent many months during the year traveling with their fifth wheel trailer, visiting friends and family along the way. Some favorite RV trips were to Canada to see the polar bears and loading the fifth wheel on a train in Mexico to see the Copper Canyon. They also cherished the time spent with Jim's sister Nancy and her husband in Texas. Carols favorite place was the ocean, especially Ocean Shores. She loved putting her toes in the sand and the beauty and peace of watching the waves roll in.
Carol's family was the heart of her world. She is lovingly remembered by her children Lyn Lauzon, Steve Wilson and wife Sheri, and Jeff Wilson; stepchildren, Kelly Mardesich, Kenneth Schwartz and Tony Cox; grandchildren, Jeannie, Laura, Chelsea, Katherine, Valen and Felicia; step-grandchildren Brian, Cole, and Nicholas; and great-grandson Gabriel. Also, sister-in-law Nancy who was with her in her final days. She also leaves many other relatives and good friends. Carol's husband Jim Schwartz preceded her in death just one month earlier.
Carol truly practiced unconditional love and encouraged all of us to be our best selves. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and continue to inspire kindness and unconditional love in the lives she touched.
A special thank you to the staff at Fields Senior Living for the loving care they provided this past year.
