Doris Jean Nelson

She was born May 7,1924 in Norman, WA to Almar and Alvilde Braaten. Her sisters and brothers included Arline, Gladys, Clifford, Robert, Opal and Larry. She was beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1942.

Doris married Keith Truman Holm in 1943,who died in WWII in 1944. She met Henry Lars Nelson while both were working at the Everett Sears store and they were married in 1946. She was preceded in death by Henry in 2005 after 59 years of marriage. Together they lived in Everett, Longview, Yakima, Spokane , Bellevue, and Kent.

She is survived by three children: Karen Seifert(Clyde), Paul Nelson(Darlene), and Susan Derline (Rod), 10 beloved grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.

Her interests included her family, all relatives far and near, and many friends. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing, entertaining, and setting the perfect table. In all of the churches attended in various towns, no person was ever a stranger and she reached out to all with genuine friendship.

Committal services will be held at Everett Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, June 29 at 12pm. All are welcome.
