Duane Louis Smith

Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Tue Dec 12th at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Wed Dec 13th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 110 50th st sw Everett, Wa.

Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, Wa.

Duane was born in Berkley, Ca to Charles Smith and Christine Sigurdson Smith on Jan 19th 1948. He went to school in Seattle and attended the School for the Blind in Vancouver, Wa. He married Carol Ann Cluff on Jan 12th 1979 at the Los Angeles Temple. He worked for GTE in the billing department.

Duane was active in the National Federation of the Blind. He also was a proud member of the Everett Lion’s club. He was an avid inventor and tinkerer who enjoyed creating tools and devices that would help others with disabilities. He loved music and would spend hours listening and singing with the radio. He always enjoyed a good, and bad, joke and would always have a dozen lined up for any occasion. More than anything else, he loved his family.

Duane preceded in death by his twin brother Daryl, his sister Joyce, brother Charles and both his parents.

Duane is survived by his wife Carol, his children Arwen, Joshua and Justin, and his brother Howard.
