On September 6, 1934, Edythe Ann (Kallicott) Pavish was born as she lived: big, bold, and blonde. Edythe was born to pioneering parents who helped shape Snohomish County into what it is today, and was incredibly proud of her family legacy. Edythe was raised on a homestead in East Sunnyside, in the home her father built, surrounded by a tight-knit community largely comprising of her own large extended family. Brilliant from birth, she could read and write from a very early age. Edythe was the Valedictorian of the 1951 class at Lake Stevens High School and deeply appreciated what an honor and sacrifice it was for her parents to send her to the University of Washington. She met the love of her life, Lawrence “Bud” Pavish, selling him a Greyhound ticket at the old Everett Depot - a fitting start for the life of adventure they’d share. Two darling daughters, Jessica and Kimberly, completed the Pavish family, which, between dance classes and trap shoots and travels, seemed to be in a constant state of motion. Edythe was a beloved reading specialist and school teacher, and she thrived in the classroom. She believed in being neighborly and was a regular walking fixture in the Bayside Neighborhood of Everett for the last 24 years. Edythe was a member of numerous professional, philanthropic, and social clubs and associations throughout her life, including the historic and illustrious “Bonettes.” She traveled the world with every mode possible, including a transatlantic cruise, a flight on the Concorde, and an African safari. She loved fashion, jewelry, makeup, and glamour. She loved cashmere, gin, the morning newspaper, Big Bang Theory, and real whipped cream. But the thing she loved most of all was her family. Edythe delighted with pride and admiration in the activities of her relations. Anyone and everyone who caught the warm glow of her megawatt smile was instantly charmed. With so many admirers, Edythe had her choice of who she could love. We are all honored she chose us.
She is adored and forever remembered by her family and extensive network of friends and fans. Surviving her are her daughters, Jessica Pavish (James Arrabito) and Kimberly Pavish (Randy Robinson), beloved grandchildren Alexis Arrabito (Ian Plagmann), Avery Ekren (Lindsay Gobble), Adrian Arrabito, Nathan Ekren, Abe Ekren, and three great grandchildren: Cooper, Berkleigh, and Addison Edythe Ekren. She is preceded in death by her husband and eternal dancing partner, Lawrence “Bud” Pavish, dear parents Harold and Eva (Skucy) Kallicott, and loving brothers Arthur and Alan.
