Ellen Stead Matheson, 87, of Everett, WA, passed away on March 12, 2026. Born in Seattle on September 9, 1938, Ellen was a woman of great heart and ambition.
From her early career in Las Vegas, at the Edmonds Yacht Club, to her many years in the Everett community, Ellen was known for her ability to forge lasting friendships. She was a pillar of the Everett community, serving with pride as the President of the Assistance League of Everett. She found great joy in her marriage to Louis Matheson Sr., whom she met at the Everett Elks Club.
She is survived by her three sons, Dan, Greg, and Jim Stead; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. To Ellen, family was everything; she took immense pride in her "big family tree" and cherished every member of its branches.
Graveside service will be held Friday, March 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, 4504 Broadway, Everett WA 98203.
