

Ester Ruth Ripley, 95 passed away peacefully in her Everett home on May 18th, 2021. She was born in Marmaduke, Arkansas to Ebron and Clevie Nowell. She had one brother and four sisters. Ruth was the youngest. Her family moved to Hanford CA in the mid 30’s.
Ruth met her husband, Harry, during World War II in Santa Rosa, CA. The story goes Ruth was walking home from work and her husband to be, Harry, was walking with 3 other soldiers. His friend said to Harry “I bet you can’t walk her home”. Harry took the challenge and they were married on August 30, 1944.
While her husband Harry was serving in the Army Aircorp, Ruth moved to his family’s home in Washington. After the war they lived in Washington and in 1958 moved to Renton, Washington. They moved to Everett, Washington in 1978 where she resided until her death.
Ruth loved keeping a spotless home. She loved walking, water exercises and keeping fit. She loved baking and was a wonderful hostess. Ruth and her husband Harry always got to know their neighbors. They would see a need and were always available to help. Ruth enjoyed visits with her grandchildren and loved watching her great grandchildren play when visiting.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father as well as her brother and 4 sisters, her husband Harry and daughter Carolyn.
She is survived by her son Steve (Janine ) Ripley and her grandchildren, Terri (Don) Snively, Brenda (Michael) Rayner, Joshua (Jenifer) Ripley and Jeremiah (Beth) Ripley. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, Kirstin, Meagan, Matthew, Christina, Jayden, Elliott, Emma Ruth, Isaiah, Everly and four great great grandchildren,.Sailou, Gawlo, Asiatou and Jacob
