(1947-2017)
Jim was born on February 25, 1947 in Marietta, Georgia to Henry and Frances (Abney) Stone.
Jim joined the military at a young age and moved his family of four across the country to Washington State in 1978 when he had the opportunity to become NCOIC. He later was promoted to Master Sergeant and after 21 years of service, he retired from the Air Force.
Those who had the pleasure of getting to know Jim would say he was a passionate, loyal and honest man. Being a man of integrity and having a very giving heart, he would give the shirt off his back to a stranger in need. A man artistically gifted, and with a great sense of humor. Jim was loved by and deeply loved, his family and friends. He was also a musician and singer with an extreme passion for music, which he passed down to his family. Throughout his life he was an entertainer, movie lover, loved sports “big Seahawks and Huskies fan” and in his later years grew to love cooking and became Chef Papa.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Stone; sons, Craig and Jason Stone, daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Stacie Stone and Rebecca Stone Bills; grandsons, Mason and Tristen Stone; granddaughter, Kaylee Stone; brothers, Jack and Patrick Stone and many great friends.
Jim’s funeral service will include being honored by Military with Flag ceremony, Taps and Three Volley Salute. Service will commence at 1400 hours (2:00 p.m.) on Sunday, October 15th 2017 at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4504 Broadway, Everett, Washington 98203,. There will be a short reception in the hospitality room at the funeral home and then a Celebration of Life will follow at 1700 hours (5:00 P.M.) at On Silver Lake Event Center, 11525 19th Ave. SE, Everett WA 98208.
