

Katherine Azelia Morovich, age 69, of Everett, Washington passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
Katherine was born in Seattle, Washington, to Gordon Joseph Mears and Mariana Brandes. She grew up in Seattle, where she cultivated a love for learning, creativity, and community. Eventually, she settled in Everett with her beloved partner of 40 years, Jeffery. Their story began during a game night at her brother's home—a chance meeting that blossomed into a lifetime of love and companionship.
Her passion for knowledge was a defining part of her life. Katherine continuously sought to expand her understanding of the world, earning a Master’s degree and working toward her Doctorates' in Urban Planning and Design, with a background in Sociology. Her dedication to education extended beyond her own pursuits, as she found joy in teaching children through acts of community service at Trinity United Church.
Katherine was a creative spirit with a deep appreciation for the whimsical and fantastical. She loved to write and paint, and she had a particular fondness for unicorns, gnomes, and fairies, which she lovingly collected. Her admiration for fantasy art reflected her vibrant imagination, and her favorite colors—purple, blue, and gray—mirrored the beauty and depth of her spirit.
Her kindness and love reached beyond people to the animals she adored. She shared a special bond with her beloved cat, Fiona, who was by her side for 19 years.
Katherine is Survived by her brother, Keith Mears.
Katherine’s legacy is one of curiosity, kindness, and creativity. She touched the lives of those around her with her warmth and wisdom, leaving behind cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
