He was born Aug. 4, 1953, in McNary to Marion Larry and Nona McNiel Baldwin. Larry grew up in both Show Low and Holbrook, and graduated from Holbrook High School. He was in the Army for a short time before being honorably discharged. He worked for both the Winslow Police Department and the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office. He retired from WPD in 1996 and began his own private investigation company. Larry and his wife, Carolyn, moved to Washington State in 2010 where he began working for Providence Hospital as a security officer. He was always a protector, and law enforcement was the perfect fit for him! Larry met the love of his life, Carolyn, 21 years ago. The day they met, Carolyn told her daughter Michele, “I want to meet a tall, handsome cowboy with a little silver hair.” Moments later, Larry Baldwin walked through the door! They were married Dec. 24, 2000. Their marriage brought two families together. Larry and Carolyn’s love went “to the moon and back.” He was a good man. He was patient, strong, and loved his family and friends with all his heart. He was a people person and loved to socialize. Larry was always willing to help anyone. This continued even after his passing, as he was a donor and made a difference in the lives of many people. One of Larry’s favorite pastimes when living in Arizona was to spend his days riding horses. He enjoyed woodworking and made many things for his family. He made beautiful benches, shelving, a potting bench and did trim work. One of his new favorites was his little dog Candy. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Baldwin; his daughters, Lisa Baldwin Hale, Linda Baldwin Schoeneman and Crystal Baldwin Foard; his stepchildren, Douglas McNabb, Jeffery McNabb and Michele Devora- McNabb; his mother, Nona Baldwin; his siblings, William Daniel Baldwin and Amy Baldwin; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
