Linda Ann Campbell was surrounded by family when she passed away peacefully, on August 25, 2025, after suffering an extended battle with metastatic pancreatic cancer. Linda will be remembered for her feisty and colorful spirit, unique zest for life, tenacious can-do attitude and irreverent sense of humor about her cancer.
Linda was born on September 30, 1955, to Elizabeth M. and W. Murray Campbell in Everett, Washington.
Linda attended St Nicholas School for girls and graduated from Lakeside School. She attended the University of Puget Sound and graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in economics. Linda was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.
Linda lived with passion and purpose, pouring her energy into everything she touched, especially her civic work and community contributions, which formed a cornerstone of her life. Her unwavering dedication to these organizations was evident in the leadership roles she embraced. When Linda committed to something, she did so with flair, determination, and a deep sense of responsibility.
She served on numerous boards, including the General Hospital of Everett Foundation, the Northwest Literacy Foundation, and the former Empty Space Theatre.
Another of Linda’s great desires was her love of entertaining and preparing food. This led to her opening Secret Chef Catering and Events. She attacked this new endeavor with intense focus and enthusiasm which grew over the twenty years she spearheaded it with great success.
During this time, she met the love of her life, Duane Oord, who helped her through the good and bad times of her battle with cancer. He gave her the reason and support to fight and live another day, which is how all who knew her understood this determination. It gave all her friends and family many more years to enjoy and spend time with Linda. She and Duane were devoted to each other for the twenty years they had together.
Linda is predeceased by her father, Murray Campbell.
She is survived by her companion, Duane Oord; mother, Elizabeth M. Campbell; daughters, Meghan Monroe (Frank) Mannes, and Elizabeth (Shawn) Filer; brother, Bill (Christine) Campbell; Duane’s children Alison (James) Rice and Matt (Gris) Oord; and Linda and Duane’s shared grandchildren: Oliver and Henrik Mannes; Evelyn, Ava and Caleb Filer; Amelia and Charlotte Rice; and Travis and Clarissa Oord.
A private interment was held at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery’s Chapel of Peace, 4504 Broadway, Everett, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
At Linda’s request, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Virginia Mason Foundation’s 0258 Pancreaticobiliary Cancer Fund, Lakeside School, or Northwest Literacy Foundation.
Linda’s passionate zest for family or any friend who needed her help will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
