

Margie was born May 28, 1919 in Seattle, Washington to Seaman C. Richards and Elmyra M. Madsen (nee Meloy). She married Oliver W. Harrison in 1941 and they lived many years in both Seattle and Everett. She worked for the Tritles company in Burien, then The Everett Elks Club when they moved back to Everett and later at the Everett Daily Herald, where she worked until she retired. She was very active in her church, United Church of Christ, formerly known as The First Congregational Church of Everett. She was often sewing items for the church bazaar and was an avid quilter, seamstress and knitter. In her last years, she resided in the Hampton Inn in Vancouver, Washington.
She was “Aunt Margie” to so many, including Patti Slegg (Ron), Nancy Richards, Susan Johnson, Skip Sponek, and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Oliver, her sister Billie Dickinson, her brother Seaman Richards, her brother-in-law Earl Ness, her niece Darlene Hensley and dear friend Al Skarberg. She is survived by her sister Olly Irvine (Roy) and sister-in-law Agnes Woods. The family would like to extend their profound gratitude to John and Jolene Skarberg and family for all of their love and support for Margie. A memorial service will take place on June 10th, 1:00 PM at the United Church of Christ (formally known as the 1st Congregational Church) in Everett, Washington.
