Our beloved mom, grandma and great-grandma passed away on March 17, 2010, in Everett, WA, she was 93. Born to William and Mary Kehoe in Taylor, Washington on April 30, 1916, and was the youngest of three children. She was very proud of the little town of Taylor near Black Diamond and shared her childhood memories and great stories often. Mom was delivered by Dr. Joseph Hutchinson, who came by horse and buggy. The Dr. had grown up with her father in Marinette, WI. Mom attended Catholic schools in Renton and Seattle, WA and graduated with the Class of 1934 from Lake Stevens High School. Three generations have followed in her footsteps and attended Lake Stevens schools. She was married to William Salo until his death in 1973 and they had five children. Mom always introduced herself as Granny. She had a great sense of humor and there were so many things that made her smile! She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed watching her grandkids play sports. She loved going to Las Vegas, NV, attending family camp outs, and her biggest joy was sticking her feet in the river and roasting a hot dog on her favorite mountain, Mt. Pilchuck. Her last days were spent with a beautiful view of Mt. Pilchuck from her room. Every year Granny enjoyed a trip to the Tulip Fields with her granddaughter, Tracy, and was always ready to go out to dinner with family! Granny lived in the same house on Callow Road in Lake Stevens for 78 years.
She is survived by daughters, Carol Stultz, DeeDee (Fred) Zielasko and Nancy Richards; two sons, Dan (Jane) Salo and Bill (Buzzie) (Nanci) Salo. She leaves 15 grandchildren, Mark, Darren (Tracy) and Brian Stultz; Tracy, Todd and Nicole Zielasko, Scott (Angie) Salo and Shellie (Jeff) Hollifield, Katie Johnson, Tara and Lindsey Richards, David Hurlbut, Terry (TJ) Zupan and Mallory and Matthew Sokolis; 16 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Taylor, Allena, Ashley, Macee, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Derek, Hunter, Drew, Ryder, Anthony, Jarek, Riley, Danika and Baby Preston, who Granny anxiously awaited for and he brought her many smiles. She also leaves several loved nieces and nephews.
Granny was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, William and Mary Kehoe; brothers, Jack and Bob Kehoe; granddaughter, Lisa Stultz; and nephew, Bobby Kehoe.
A funeral service and reception will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23, at Evergreen Cemetery in Everett, WA.
