Nancy Van Winkle, 83 years old, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025. She was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon on June 24, 1941. She lived a very full life and loved her family and her dogs with all her heart. After losing her birth father at a very young age, she was so happy when her mom married her forever Dad, Fred. She announced, “we are getting married!” Growing up, Nancy was so proud to work at Chaffee’s department store in her early years.
Nancy lived in Everett for most of her life with her husband Dick. They also spent numerous weekends and summer vacations with family and friends at their cabin on the Skykomish River in Gold Bar. She volunteered often at her daughter’s schools and never missed attending any of their sporting events. They later moved to Mukilteo and had an amazing home on the waterfront. She adored her grandsons and loved to spoil them every chance she got. Nancy loved planning vacations to Aruba and Hawaii and cruising.
She leaves behind her husband, Dick Van Winkle, daughter Debbie (Joe) Sager, grandsons Derek and Kyler (Allie) Sager, her sisters Barb (Tim) Stobb, Shelley (Mark) Taylor, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Van Winkle, in 1993 and her parents Fred and Maxine McDonald. Special thanks for the wonderful care provided by family friend, Brenda Hillstrand, Gabriela Rebrean and her staff at Augustae Senior Living and Providence Hospice. There will be a private family memorial at a later date.
