Robert “Bob” Berg was born the oldest of 8 children in Tacoma Washington. He joined the Air Force in 1954 and proudly served until 1958. He then moved to Marysville where he met and married his wife Alice. They were the proud parents of 4 children, Laura, Chris, Danny and Susie, and they shared 66 years together building a life and family filled with love.
Bob was a lifelong learner and he earned his Associates Degree from Edmonds Community College while working at GTE and raising a family. He was involved in his community coaching little league, serving on the Levy Committee, and as a member of the Jaycees. Bob worked for GTE for many years and after he retired he travelled the world setting up cell sites in countries where land lines were not possible. This gave him the opportunity to take Alice on exciting adventures and together they saw the world from a different perspective. After retiring the second time, he became a Master Gardener, a Peer counselor, and a tax completion volunteer. He always brought a fun spirit to whatever he did.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife Alice; his daughter Laura and her children, Jon and Taryn; his son Chris and his daughter Alisha (Brian) and their children Myles, Austin and Cameron; his daughter Susie (Chris) and their children Henry, Warren and Ellie. Bob will be joining his son Danny in heaven. He is survived by his two sisters, MaryAnn Moe and Betty Hamilton. His mother, Bessie, and his brothers, Chuck, Harry, Dick, and Larry who preceded him are now enjoying some Berg family time.
Please join us to celebrate Bob’s life on September 21st, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Carleton Farms in Lake Stevens.
Donations can be made in his honor to the “Save the Osa Fund”, a fund dedicated to the preservation of a handmade Viking ship at Lake Riley, where we spent many wonderful family times together.
