Ronald Joseph Fronheiser Jr. unexpectedly passed away on March 12, 2025. Ron was born in Dover, NJ, on July 18, 1965, spending his early impressionable years on a farm hunting and fishing with his Dad. It is there and from him that he inherited his love and respect for the land and what it can provide to man and family. Moving from the farm to Arizona, where he graduated high school, further instilled a fierce family loyalty as oldest brother to sister Laura Contreras and brother Don Fronheiser. His kindness, humor, and infectious joy he carried throughout his entire life resulted in nobody ever being a stranger, and the development of life-long friendships was apparent even then, meeting his close friend Brian McGregor and his high school sweetheart and eventual wife Angelique Leone.
In 1983, Ron enlisted in the U.S. Navy, following in the footsteps of his father. His naval career spanned 26 years, during which he served aboard several ships, including the USS Kitty Hawk and USS Abraham Lincoln. He completed notable deployments in support of operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, earned a master’s degree in operations management, and retired with full honors and numerous awards at the rank of Senior Chief.
His loyal devotion was best reflected in his civilian life as a husband, father, friend, and community member. He was happiest serving his sons, whether as coach of youth football and baseball teams or passing on his love of the land on annual “fish camps” with them and their grandfather Sisi. This early bond continued as he cherished every minute he had with his sons. Together, they found and grew their mutual passions, whether it was tackling any project Mom, machine, friends, or Mother Nature would throw at them, barbecuing anything, or experiencing live music. All the while, they talked about sports, their day, or their next adventure. They were truly his best friends, purpose, and proudest achievement.
With more time after retirement, Ron expanded his yearly hunting and fishing trips to a group of loyal friends he adored and shared some of his best times, whether successful in their conquest or not.
His sense of duty was potentially best reflected in sharing home and primary caregiving duties for his mother and father-in-law, volunteering at the VFW, teaching hunter safety courses, delivering meals to veterans, and bringing food to the nurses as part of his regular plasma donation. His family is comforted knowing they or anybody else really knows all the people he assisted or the projects he volunteered for.
Lastly, but not completely, Ron embarked on a 2nd vocation, combining his love of education and aviation, serving the Washington Aerospace Training & Research Center at Edmonds College for the last decade.
Ron is proceeded in death by his father Ronald Fronheiser Sr., mother Terry (Adams) Pichette, and is survived by his wife Angelique Leone, sons Ronald Joseph Fronheiser III, and Joseph Leone Fronheiser; sister Laura Contreras, brother Donald Fronheiser; father-in-law Joseph Leone, stepfather Richard Pichette, and many nephews and nieces he adored.
Be comforted that Ron left us with no regrets, with maybe the exception of the most recent demise of the NY Giants. There was never a challenge too large to tackle or a project too small to start but never finish. He gave 110% to everything and everybody he encountered. The family asks if you want to do something in his honor, continue his tradition of daily random acts of kindness, courtesy and genuine interest in everyone you meet, and carry a sense of joy and wonderment into even the most mundane tasks.
A private family gathering will be held in Arizona in April and a celebration of life for all he might have touched at 2-5 PM, Sunday, May 4 at the Woodway Hall at Edmonds College, 20200 68th Ave W., Lynnwood, WA 98036.
