in Kirkland, Washington, two days before her 69th birthday.
She was born on July 18, 1953 to William and Kathleen Wakeland in Seattle, Washington and was one of two children. She graduated from Ingraham High School in 1971 and attended business College in the Seattle area. In 1973, she married her High School Sweetheart whom she met in her Jr. year David. She quickly climbed the career ladder and became a sales representative for Seattle Office Interiors. She worked in the Business Office Furniture and Flooring Industry and attained a Regional Manager Status.
One day her husband Dave was reading the “Little Nickel” want ads and came across a type of cat called the “Pixie Bob”. This sparked interest in both Sharleen and Dave and they began what would become A premier Pixie Bob Breeding Cattery both locally and internationally. Over the years, they would grow the cattery and they produced three international winners-“Butch Cassidy, Tim McGraw and Lion Heart”. They shared absolute love for animals regardless of the species and frequently rescued and took in abandoned animals. If a stray animal ended up on their back porch, they would ultimately adopt into their furry family.
In her passing, Sharleen leaves many fond and cherished memories of 49 wonderful years of marriage and a lifetime of love. Sharleen was the love of Dave’s life and she was his.
