Ariel Rhiannon Thier was born on Feb 3, 2003 in Agaña Heights, Guam. On that day, she allowed our son to become a brother and for us to be the parents that she had chosen. She was so wanted and planned for, and she completed our family and made us whole.
Throughout her years Ariel got to travel and see the world. She’s been to Guam, Hawaii, Germany, Egypt, Spain, Japan, Italy, Tunisia, Morocco, Mexico, Cypress, Malta, Caribbean Islands, and many of the States. She has lived and moved to many locations as well. She moved from Guam to Tennessee to Rota, Spain and then to South Carolina followed by Virginia. She then got to move to California’s Central Valley for a few years before moving to the Chicago area which she really enjoyed. She liked the snow a lot and frequently said she would live there forever until moving to San Diego, CA. She quickly changed her mind and decided that she enjoyed the California sunshine instead. She was then able to move to the Los Angeles area and finally to Orange County with her family. Her last move was to Washington state to be with her partner where she wrote how she enjoyed seeing so many stars in the sky.
In 2022, Ariel legally changed her name to Sorren Kairos Feathers. She adopted the name from the wise barn owl from the movie Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. Kairos was a Greek god of opportunity, luck, and fleeting opportune moments.
Sorren, as anyone who knew her would attest, was a kind, compassionate, sensitive, caring, and trusting gentle person who was able to see the good in everyone. She maintained high standards for herself and always tried her best. Sorren, in her later years, became very religious and spiritual and followed the Bible’s teachings. She was a gifted artist, created many collages, and was astute at video editing and made many interesting fun edits to songs using animation from the cartoon Hazbin Hotel. She made numerous drawings, and as an artist was able to capture expressions and emotions so accurately. Sorren was also a prolific journaler and was an excellent and gifted writer.
Sorren aspired to be in the helping field and was interested in Social Work and was taking classes quite recently to pursue this goal.
Sorren will always be the warmth of our hearts, the quiet presence that calms, and the most beautiful soul that we have ever encountered. We are blessed and honored to have known her precious soul for this brief time.
We pray for her that she now rests in peace and has met her Lord and that she knows that we will never, ever forget her beautiful light and will always love her more than words can express.
Rest in Peace our sweet baby.
