Thanh Ngo, 53, passed away peacefully after an exhausting two-year battle with stage 4 prostate cancer. He was a devoted husband, a wonderful dad, and a humble soul whose strength and love held his family together. He was a fighter, facing cancer with courage and strength and never giving up until the very end.
Born in Vietnam, Thanh was resettled in the United States with his wife, one year old daughter, and mother. From Vietnam to New York and eventually to Washington, his journey was not easy, but he never complained. He worked tirelessly, often holding multiple jobs, to make sure his children had the opportunities he never had. His life was built on sacrifice, perseverance, and love.
At home, Thanh's love took shape in the care he put into everything around him. He poured his heart into building and improving the household—constructing a shed by hand, transforming the backyard into a beautiful garden, and always finding ways to make life better for his family. He was a quiet craftsman, a steady presence, and the kind of man who showed his love not just in words, but in every act of labor and care.
Despite the pain he endured in his final months, Thanh remained loving and strong. He found the courage to say goodbye, leaving his family wrapped in the same deep love that defined his life.
He is survived by his wife Suong Bui, mother No Ngo, and children David Ngo and Hang Ngo, who carry forward his legacy of resilience, compassion, and strength. His memory will live on in the home he built, the lives he touched, and the hearts he leaves behind.
