Wanda was born on December 20th, 1940 to Jack and Lenora Ergler in Everett Washington. She had 3 older siblings; Eva, Rosella and Art. 2 years later she had a younger brother Gabe. She grew up in Wentachee Washington on a cherry orchard in the heights and a small house across from the park in town. She went to Heaven on Tuesday morning July 29th, 2025. She passed away due to complications of Alzheimer's.
Wanda attended the one room schoolhouse in Wenatchee Heights with her younger brother Gabe and neighbors. She graduated in June 1959 from Wenatchee Highschool. She attended Highline Community College working on her accounting degree. She worked at Bell Helicopter in Tehran, Iran. Managed the Hobby shop in Kent Washington, managed the family business bookwork and worked for Bank of America for 21 years.
Wanda married Duane Marberg on June 5th, 1959. They had 3 children: John, Sharon and Darla. Over the years she had 10 grandchildren (Brittany, Ryan, Kristin, Katrina, Diana, Dan, Jesse, Andrey and Anna) 10 great-grandchildren (Sophia, Landen, Brooklyn, Wyatt, Shaylee, Tristine, Makayla, Brenden, Kyla and Kane). Her love for her family was immense and the adventures we have all shared with holidays, trips to the ocean, hiking, “game nights”, vacations around the world, church events, etc. Have made all our lives full of love and happiness.
Wanda raised her family around Western Washington, Northern California and Iran over the years and spent several years with Duane in Toronto Canada prior to his death in 2003. She was able to keep everyone connected with all the moves, culture changes, houses, etc. Her abilities to make anywhere a home were astounding.
She had a great love for the Lord and served in every church family she was part of as a Deaconess, Sunday school teacher, Youth Group Leader, Grief Share Leader, Greeter, Communion Organizer, Choir and a Prayer Warrior. You were never a stranger for long with Wanda, but quickly a member of the family with a place at the table and a place to stay.
Wanda loved crafts! Card making, quilting, tole painting, and embroidery. She had a great passion for gardening, which she shared with her 3 children. She attended 21 years of the Seattle Flower and Garden Show with her Children and friends over the years and always had a beautiful garden.
Mom was full of life, and love! We will continue her legacy as family together. Loving each other and those around us. Sharing God’s love and purpose with those we meet as we continue to strengthen our own relationship with him. She will always be a part of us all as we continue to love her from here until we are together again in Heaven.
A visitation for Wanda will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203.
