Bill was born in Everett (at home) to Joseph & Esther (Beneke) Metz. Married Audrey Manney 12 August 1950 In Everett WA. Audrey passed away in 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Audrey, an infant son and his siblings.
He is survived by daughter Cathy Metz, sons Steve Metz (Joy Metz) and Jerry Metz, daughter in law Debra Metz, grandsons; Ezra Metz, Eli Metz, and Andrew Metz, granddaughter Rachel Metz, and great-grandson Ezra Metz.
Bill was a Merchant sailor from his late teens until the early 1950’s. After leaving the Merchant Service he went to work for Weyerhaeuser in 1953 until he retired in the early 90’s. During this time he was also served as an Everett Reserve Police officer for 20 years. Bill was very involved in calling and teaching square dancing and clogging, music and singing. He especially loved dancing. There will be no services at this time. A memorial will be held at a later date.
