

William Earl “Bill” Steinbaugh, passed away on December 2, 2025 at the Washington Veteran’s Home in Port Orchard. He was 97 years old.
Bill was born on Nov. 14, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio, but grew up in Warren, graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in 1945. Bill was extremely handsome and charismatic, with sparkling blue eyes and a quick Irish wit. He was a gifted athlete, having tried out for and being drafted by “The St. Louis Browns--a minor league baseball team, where he played briefly.
Following graduation, Bill joined the Air Force, where he served as a radar operator. He also played trumpet in the military band, and was honored to perform at the Inauguration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Bill had a beautiful baritone singing voice and was talented enough to qualify to try out for a spot on The Lawrence Welk Show. In his younger years he was often called upon by friends to sing at their weddings. It was at such a wedding where he met his future wife, Ramona Irene Baird. They were married six weeks later at Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Everett and were together for 58 years, until her passing in 2010.
Bill and Ramona raised six children together and were devoted both to each other and to their family. He was eventually hired by The Boeing Company in Everett, (where he worked until his retirement) and the family settled in the Lake Stevens area. He and Ramona shared many adventures, including living one year in Saudi Arabia and later traveling to Rome, Italy and Medjugorje, Yugoslavia (now known as Bosnia-Herzegovina), where several appearances by and messages from the Blessed Virgin Mary are believed to have taken place.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Bill was fondly known to many of his “greats” as “Papa Two.”
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona, daughter, Patricia Steinbaugh; son, John, and his beloved grandson, Brennen.
He leaves four living children: Mike Steinbaugh, of Las Vegas, NV; Jim (Laurie) Steinbaugh, of Mount Vernon; Tom (Cherie) Steinbaugh of Arlington, and Maria (Mark) Moritz of Naches—all in WA. He also leaves 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, located at 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203.
A private graveside service is scheduled for January 5, 2026 Interment at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, 1615 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett WA 98208.
