

Alphonso Trent Ransom was born November 29, 1929, in Middle town, Kentucky to the late Robert D Ransom and the late Amanda E. Ransom. Alphonso was a Methodist who trusted in God. He attended a small rural school in Kentucky grades through 1-8. He transferred to Western High School where he graduated. Alphonso passed away at the University of California, Davis Medical Hospital at the age of 92. May he rest in peace.
He remained in Kentucky until 20 yrs. of age then join the United States Air Force, serving four years. He discharged from military service, moved to Chicago, and furthered his education at the Voss Business College for two years. In 1957 he rejoined the USAF stayed 20 years. He was united in Holy Matrimony with the late Christine Toni Ransom in 1960.
He retired in 1977 from USAF as an Msgt, and served in Korea and Vietnam era.
He received numerous service awards, including, the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service April 23rd, 1975, and May 31st, 1977. Also was awarded the Good Conduct Medal Oct 27th, 1953, and the National Defense Service Medal.
After retiring from the military, he joined the Aerojet Corporation, worked for another 20 years and retired in 1998. He lived in Rancho Cordova for 45 years
His proudest family moments were when his son Jan Ransom was born in Madrid, Spain. Other special memories were his trip to Nairobi Kenya in 1976 with his wife Christine and son Jan. He expressed that he felt like a king there and enjoyed how beautiful it was.
He was also proud of the support and encouragement he provided to his children Jan, Carolyn, Michael and Rickey in pursuit of higher education. Later he provided moral support to his grandchildren to do the same.
Alphonso is predeceased by his wife Christine Toni Ranson, Sue Turley, son Rickey M Bonner; Jeanetta Kendricks; Robert Ransom; Amy Ransom; Arliene Ransom.
Alphonso is survived by Jan S Ransom; Michael E. Bonner; Carolyn M King; granddaughters, Michelle Bonner, Desiree Bonner and Angelina Bonner; Mikayla Downs King, grandsons, William Stuart, Rutledge King; Bryant Bonner and Robert Bonner and numerous nieces and nephews and great friends Madeline Smith and Bruce Hamilton.
