Betty Ricketts, age 90, passed away peacefully at home in Orangevale, Calif., with family by her side on October 9, 2021. She was born in Oroville, Calif., on February 27, 1931, to Alfred and Phyllis Pulcifer. Betty loved camping with family and friends, playing pinochle, decorating cakes, traveling, gardening and sewing -- all while being a wife and mom to six children.
Betty was preceded in death by her brothers Charles, Jim and Phillip Pulcifer, sisters Naomi Pugmire and Jerry Dick, and son, Michael. She leaves her loving husband of 72 years, John Ricketts, sons John Jr. and Danny Ricketts, and daughters Carolyn Schooley, Barbara Horton and Patty Ross Newton, as well as their spouses, 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was always glad to add another plate to the dinner table and was a lifelong member of the Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church. The family would like to thank Blossom Ridge Hospice for the care they provided her in her final days.
Services will be held at Mount Vernon in Citrus Heights on Monday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m. Betty was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
