Clyde A. Baker, born in Altadena California on July 4th 1943 and died of cancer on June 27th 2021, in his home in Orangevale California, surrounded by his loving wife, daughter, and son. He is survived by Peggy, his wife of 57 years, his daughter Cathy Roemer and son Billy Clyde Baker, grandchildren Thad Roemer and Peggy Roemer, his sisters Shirley Maisenbach of Rancho Cordova, CA and Wanda Varner of Palmdale, CA, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was raised in Eureka CA where he joined the US Marine Corps at the age of 17. After his discharge he returned to Eureka and worked in the logging industry and the auto body repair business. In 1980 he relocated his family to Sacramento, CA and worked as a driller in the oil industry. In 2007 he opened Hugs Alternative Care, Inc. in Sacramento, CA, where in patrons referred to him lovingly as "Papa Hugs". He was loved by all who knew him and will be so truly missed by all.
