Darlene was the youngest of five children born to Hugh and Elsie McGee on July 16, 1946. Darlene was raised in Los Gatos, CA and graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1964.
In 1965, Darlene married her first husband, Joe Canavero of San Jose and had two children, Tony Canavero and Tracy Bueghly.
In 1977 Darlene settled in Rancho Cordova and married Jim Farrell, with whom she had two sons, D.J. and K.C. Farrell.
Darlene spent 26 years of her career working for the Folsom-Cordova Unified School District where she held numerous positions for three elementary schools: Cordova Lane, Folsom Hills, and Sandra J. Gallardo, before retiring as an Administrative Assistant in 2010.
Darlene is remembered not only as a conscientious and efficient employee who went out of her way to support her administrators, teachers and fellow staff, but also as an active member of the community where she ran a daycare, was elected and held the position of president of the Rancho Cordova Little League and the Cordova Lane PTA for a number of years, and hosted countless Bunco parties. Darlene was also the heart and soul of her extended family and loved nothing more than having large backyard BBQs and holiday parties with family and friends.
Darlene is survived by her brother Jim McGee; her husband Jim Farrell; her four children: Tony Canavero (Loni), Tracy Bueghly (Jeff), D.J Farrell (Melissa), and K.C. Farrell; and her six grandchildren: Brianna, Cody, and Tanner Bueghly; Elise and Ethan Farrell; and Joseph Canavero.
