David Leroy Sanders

Dr. David Leroy Sanders was born on St. Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1921 in Joplin, Missouri. He transitioned peacefully to be with the Lord on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2015 in Roseville, California. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Sanders Hamilton, her husband Dr. Jordan Hamilton, granddaughter Rachel Murray, her husband, Aaron Murray, grandson Justin Hamilton and great-grandchildren, Michael Sanders Murray, Daniel Sanders Murray, Nathaniel Murray and Elisabeth Ann Murray.

Dr. Sanders was ordained by the Assemblies of God at the age of seventeen and remained active in ministry for 77 years. He was the Senior Pastor at North Hollywood First Assembly of God for twenty years. While serving in North Hollywood, he received his Doctor of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. He founded the Los Angeles Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. Dr. Sanders raised over a half a million dollars for Calcutta Mercy Ministries in Kolkata, India.

Family and Friends are invited to a Visitation on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm and a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks, California. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kids With Destiny (www.kidswithdestiny.org) Hope House project.
